Summer Preparatory Academy

Each summer, we invite a group of select individuals to campus for an intensive six-week experience that will serve as a foundation for life-long achievement. Throughout the academy, you will gain confidence in mastering college-level work and will ultimately acquire the tools you will need to graduate. The Summer Preparatory Academy gives us an opportunity to work with high school seniors who have academic potential, but based on one of more of the factors below, need an intensive summer experience to help them achieve academic success: GPA, SAT/ACT scores, class rank and rigor of academic subjects.

Scholarships

Students complete ONE application to automatically apply to multiple scholarships. The scholarship awards are posted to student’s financial aid records, and the students receive an email notification of the award. Incoming freshmen and transfers should apply before Jan. 15 for priority consideration. For current students, the scholarship application period opens Jan. 1.

Professional U

Professional U connects students with alumni, employers, and opportunities integrating the academic experience with professional experience in “real world” settings. Through the exploration of professional development topics and experiential learning, students build skills and confidence which prepare them for personal and professional success upon graduation.

Military Friendly

Once again, Bloomsburg University has been named a Military Friendly School from Victory Media, publisher of GI Jobs magazine — its second as a Silver Level Award. As a result, BU is ranked in the top 10 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the country working to embrace military service members, veterans and spouses as students ensuring their success on campus.

Certificate Programs

Certificates allow you to gain specialized knowledge in a subject area that might lead to professional growth or even a new career. Shorter than bachelor’s degree, certificates provide a fast way to jump-start your career! Certificates are available in digital forensics, digital rhetoric and professional writing, medical genomics and counseling, pre-medical science and rehabilitative justice. Which option is yours?
